Dr. Livingston,
I am a 34 year old mother of 4, ranging in ages from 2-8….the last two being twins, which took a hard toll on my body. I used to be in great shape and a gym junkie….now most of my exercise only comes from chasing kids around. Breasteeding 4 kids has left me with sagging 38D breasts and the multiple pregnancies leaving my with a sagging stomach. All of which leave me feeling completly unattractive. I would love to get back to my pre-marriage, pre-children body, I just don’t think it’s going to happen with only exercise. I’m thinking about getting a breast lift and maybe reduction, and see what kind of options I have for my stomach. I’m not really sure what the difference is, or if there is a difference between a tummy tuck and where skin is actually removed. My two big concerns are whether or not I’m a candidate (what is it that deicdes whether you are or not?) and down time. As you can imagine, with 4 kids, I don’t have alot of time for down time. Finally, I can’t promise that I’m done having children. What happens if I have these procedures and then get pregnant?
I look forward to hearing back from you, as I have heard many wonderful things about you !!
Sincerely,
Ali
All are questions that can be addressed within my office during our consultation. A breast lift or reduction usually has very little pain and downtime except for the healing process which can take several weeks. A tummy tuck or abdominoplasty has an extended period of time of limited to no lifting for up to 6 weeks and can be painful for the first week. If you are planning on children I would certainly recommend to hold off on any cosmetic body procedure. I hope this information helps and would enjoy seeing you at some point to discuss these issues further.
Dr. Livingston,
First of all, thank you for having the blog open as a resource for people like myself who are interested in having plastic surgery procedure(s) done and have questions.
After a significant weight loss, I am looking into have a full body lift. I’ve been doing research on the procedure and have wondered about a pretty sensitive area and whether it is also a part of the body lift procedure. What I’d like to know about is a labia reduction. I do plan on seeing you regarding the body lift, but as you can imagine, a labia reduction is a pretty sensitive topic and I feel more comfortable discussing it here and getting a feel for what you have to say, before discussing it in person. If it’s something that is a bit unorthodox or something that you just don’t do, I wouldn’t want to mention it in an office visit. Basically, as I feel with several areas of my body, I feel that I have an extra amount of flesh down there. Is a labia reduction something that can be done or is it something that is normally included within the procedures of a full body lift?
I look forward to getting some insight from you on this subject as well as eventually getting the procedures done!!
Kindest Regards,
A New Me
