Dr. Livingston,

I have a cousin who lives down in South Texas. She gave birth to a baby yesterday that was born without ears. Microtia is what I believe she called it. I know there are some instances where something can be done to help children like these, but I honestly don’t trust the medical care she is getting down there and would like to bring them here to the medical center in Houston. Would you be willing to look at him to see if there is anything that can be done. Is this something that can be done immediately or is there a minimum age requirement??

Your advice on this is eagerly awaited.
